Time Is Short to Complete Campaign
New Pledges Totalling $1.2 Million Needed Soon
The time is now to complete funding for the Restoring the Legacy campaign, says Stefan Gleason (EZ 1816), Vice President of the White Star Foundation of Florida and Co-Chairman of the Restoring the Legacy campaign.

After two years, the campaign has surpassed $800,000 in gifts and pledges towards its goal of $2 million.

Great Progress—More To Do
"We're making progress but there's a lot more we want to do—and we want to make some decisions soon," Gleason explained.

That means $1.2 million is needed in gifts or pledges between now and the next few months to move forward with construction and complete renovation by 2017 at the latest. All gifts to the White Star Foundation for the Restoring the Legacy campaign are100 percent tax-deductible.

Surging Growth
Topping 100 active members, Epsilon Zeta has surged in recent years. It's better positioned today than at any time since the 1960s to get back on top at the University of Florida. The one limiting factor to future growth, Gleason noted, is a house that is "way too small for even the current chapter size and certainly too small for a chapter that would be the number one chapter at the University."

The Restoring the Legacy renovation campaign will more than double the size of the house, adding 10,600 SF and expanding living capacity from 24 to 44 beds.

Undergraduates Pitch In
Collegiate brothers are excited about the campaign, with nearly 100 percent pledging an amount equal to their initiation number—a four figure sum. "That's a significant symbol of the chapter's commitment to the campaign," Gleason remarked.

Without a competitive house, Gleason warned that Epsilon Zeta's forward momentum will be slowed and put at risk.

Need is Now
And that's why time is of the essence, said Gleason, who encouraged alumni to join the campaign.

"If we're going to capitalize on this opportunity to be back on top at the University of Florida then we need to get this done now."
